London, UK – Baneco, the British sustainable materials startup transforming banana agricultural waste into industrial-grade fibre, is proud to announce its membership in Products of Change (POC) — a global community of brands, retailers, and innovators committed to advancing sustainable product development.

Products of Change brings together industry leaders to drive collaboration, share best practices, and accelerate the adoption of low-impact materials and circular design strategies. Through its programmes and network, POC supports organisations seeking to embed sustainability into mainstream commercial operations.

Baneco’s membership reflects its commitment to scaling waste-based, low-carbon materials that integrate seamlessly into existing manufacturing processes. Operating in Ecuador, Baneco produces mechanically refined banana fibre designed for paper, packaging, and non-woven applications — offering a sustainable alternative to virgin wood pulp and fossil-based materials.

Richard Edwards, Co-Founder of Baneco, said:

“Joining Products of Change is an important step for Baneco. POC represents a powerful ecosystem of forward-thinking organisations working to make sustainability commercially real. Our mission is to transform one of the world’s most abundant agri-waste streams into scalable, high-performance materials, and we look forward to collaborating with the POC community to accelerate that transition.”

Nicola Webster, Community Manager at Products of Change, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Baneco to the Products of Change community. Their innovative approach to converting agricultural waste into scalable, low-carbon materials aligns strongly with our mission to drive sustainable transformation across consumer products and retail. Baneco’s work demonstrates how circular solutions can deliver both environmental and commercial value.”

Baneco is currently advancing commercial partnerships across packaging and materials sectors, with a focus on enabling circular, climate-positive supply chains.
